A few cooler days has provided some yin and yang. The yin: the cucumbers are taking longer to mature since they love the hot & humid weather. The yang: Cherokee purple tomatoes, & the cherry tomatoes are beginning to change color, the yellow wax beans are starting to flower, and the first cantaloupe is forming on the vine. As you can see from the farm stand picture the squash and zucchini are still plugging along.
Fresh basil pesto, made today, has been added to the farm fridge for sale starting tomorrow. It needs to be consumed within a week or it can be frozen for later. The red cabbage was inspected and we are hoping to have a few heads by this weekend with hopefully another cauliflower head or two. The jams currently in the stand is all that remain until the farm fruits start producing.
Patriotic décor started finding new homes today. If you see something in the blog you like, act fast as it may be gone if you wait. We hope your doors look fabulous. Come sign up for the raffle which will be drawn in a few weeks. Happy Humpday evening! J&L
