Thank you for tuning into the Daily Farm news on Holly Hill radio. Today’s update includes produce availability as well as what you can expect in the upcoming weeks. Currently available include beans, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, herbs, micro greens, acorn squash, garlic, onions, red cabbage, and blueberries. The Cherokee purple heirloom slicing tomatoes are ripening at the moment and you can find them in the Farm stand daily. Our large red slicing tomatoes are beginning to show signs of ripening but are still green. Cantaloupe, watermelon, and butternut squash all have the beginnings of fruit but are not near ready for harvest. Spaghetti squash is getting close to harvest and should be ready in a week or two. The first 3 rows of corn now have tassels and will begin to get silks in the upcoming week, we are hoping these will be ready by the 4th of July. Stay tuned for updates on availability. Okra now has its first set of flowers so we anticipate okra beginning to arrive soon. ** For those who want cucumbers to pickle we will have 1/2 bushel (10 pound bags) of cucumbers available starting Thursday**
If you are wondering where our other Farm stand items come from we support local Cherokee County businesses to include Alma coffee, two vendors of local raw honey from Canton, free range farm fresh chicken eggs, two vendors of elderberry products to include drops, syrup & tea, and custom sugar cookies from a local Canton based company.
The Goods store also boasts local Canton vendors. Jason’s mom makes the majority of what you see in the store along with our neighbor who contributes many beautiful items. Lisa adds some touches here and there but her main focus is the produce. If you wish to continue your support of local small businesses stop in and browse selections that we offer in both of our stores. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you soon! This concludes your Holly Hill update for the day. Join us tomorrow for more Daily Farm News.
