The monthly raffle is winding down with only 3 days remaining to get your name in the drawing. A name will be drawn at close of business Saturday and the winner will be announced in our Sunday post. Good luck to everyone who has entered. Happy close of hump day!
Today’s daily inspection of the high tunnels and field gardens yielded an exciting discovery. Our usual summer offerings are getting very close to a produce explosion. Tomatoes are finally turning red, and the pepper plants have small peppers forming. The squash, zucchini, and cucumber plants are getting larger and producing more fruits on a daily basis. Meanwhile the beans are now flowering and the herbs are now being harvested daily. Garlic and blueberry offerings are also close to making an arrival. Tomorrow is Wednesday and Lisa will be at the Bridgemill Farmer’s Market from 9am until 1pm. Goods will be open at 2pm. Have a great evening and enjoy the rain this evening.
It’s almost that time again…. tomato season! These beauties have grown quickly with the warmer weather. After our planting and math, we have 180 tomato plants in the tunnels to produce these juicy, mouth watering fruits we love so much. Four varieties this year: Cherokee Purple slicers, regular red slicers, cherry tomatoes and paste/canning tomatoes. All are green and looking delicious…. now we wait for the redness. The Farm stand was busy today, but we are stocked and ready for the Tuesday shoppers. For those looking for gluten free banana bread it is back in stock with the regular banana bread, along with Alma coffee, honey, eggs, and elderberry items. Produce Tuesday includes cucumbers, zucchini, lemon cucumber, herbs, micro-greens, lettuce and spinach. You will notice we have expanded to the front yard. These plots will be for flowers, so as always, thank you for growing with us and we will see you at the stand!
