A blow out day!

Thanks to everyone who shopped with us today. Hoping you enjoy your farm fresh produce. We sold out of produce today which has changed our dinner plans 🙂 For those who came by in the late afternoon, sorry the freshness had left the stand. With many more people moving into the area over the last two years and the word getting out about Holly Hill FG, this year has kicked off with a fantastic start. While we have increased our production each year as we have grown, we couldn’t have predicted the current situation our world and economy is in. The planning and ordering of seeds and supplies begins about 8 months before you see the first produce offerings for the current season. The best advice we can offer is to come early if possible.
The farm stand is restocked for tomorrow with more fresh produce along with garlic dill pickles and summer squash salsa.
We had a surprise today while checking the tunnels. There are cauliflower and cabbage heads forming which should be available soon. As always we will let you know when they are available.
For those who have not tried the honey or the elderberry you are missing out. The local honey is delicious on biscuits, toast or in tea. The elderberry syrup is packed with healthy antioxidants and tastes more like a juice than a syrup. Only 1 tablespoon a day for adults and 1 teaspoon a day for kiddos. You can even mix it in a cocktail if desired. 😉
Goods is back open tomorrow with our next raffle has started . Come into Goods to register for another unique piece. This raffle is a handmade grapevine wreath with butterflies, and roses (pictured below). We also have 2 new handmade sunflower boards to decorate your front doors for the summer that have arrived.
Wishing you a wonderful evening! HHFG

Tomato time is getting closer!

Happy Monday eve! We did not catch the lunar eclipse last night which was rare for us as we enjoy celestial events. Instead a rare moment of watching a movie together and studying eyelids took precedence. Hope you were able to enjoy it. And now onto the farm updates…
The strawberries are nearing their seasonal end, but the blackberries are on the way to replace them. Color changes have began on the tomato front. The cherry tomatoes are turning red with availability expected in the near future. The large slicers are still green, but getting some girth with the progress being monitored closely. Have you had the lemon cucumbers yet? In case you haven’t seen or tried them yet, they are the yellow ‘baseballs’ next to the strawberries. No, they don’t taste like a lemon, but they do have a thinner skin and a lighter texture compared to a regular cucumber. They have been a hit for those who dared try them and keep returning for more each season.
The newly arrived sweet potato slips were planted today. More onions were also planted as the first batch wasn’t on it’s “A” game. The fruit trees are showing signs of potential offerings for peaches, pears, and figs this year. Fingers crossed!
Leaving you with a few photos of tomatoes to make your mouth water for the evening. See you soon at the farm!

The stand is filling!

The stand is filling up with fresh tasty produce, cooking herbs in the farm fridge and our jams, pickles, honey, elderberry, and coffee. We have a variety for you Monday. Pickles, summer squash salsa and strawberry jam were canned today and will be available later this week after their resting period.
We want to congratulate our newest raffle winner, Christina Wright. Christina, you have an email from us. Our next raffle will be announced this week and sign up will begin Wednesday. We wish you a great evening and will see you at the stand!

Elderberry syrup has arrived!!!

For all those interested in elderberry syrup it is now available in the farm stand refrigerator. Along with the newest elderberry syrup offering, fresh farm herbs (also in the farm fridge), local honey, coffee, jams, and of course our tasty homegrown, fresh non-GMO produce is available for Saturday!
More customers have stopped into Goods to browse and sign up for the raffle this week. If you see something you like in the daily Goods blog photos make sure to come in to scoop it up before it is gone. As the saying goes ‘the early bird gets the worm’.
Come see us from 9am to 4pm on Saturday for the freshness, and locally crafted Goods offerings. Hoping everyone has a great Friday evening! J&L

Fresh produce, local honey, jams, pickles, and more!

Wow, we have gone from a small amount of offerings to a semi packed stand in a very short time. Welcome to Holly Hill, where there may not be much one day and then BOOM, a packed out farm stand with variety! Friday is looking great for those who visit both Farm and Goods.
We are finishing up the raffle this week and the winner will be drawn on Saturday. Stop into Goods to sign up and browse our selection of local, handcrafted items. You may find something that suits your fancy.
Farm is stocked with produce, fresh herbs, new jam selections, pickles, local honey, and coffee. Hopefully you have liked, and followed (that’s important) our pages on social media and make sure to interact with the posts to insure they show up in your feed. Or follow the daily blog at www.hollyhillfarmandgoods.com to insure you don’t miss the latest offerings at Holly Hill.
Elderberry syrup update. Thanks to all who commented several days ago. We have an order in which should be arriving Friday, and will be available as soon as it does arrive. The elderberry needs to stay refrigerated so it will be in the Farm refrigerator.
There is still more to do today so we will sign off for now and see you at the farm!

Not seeing the daily offerings? Make sure to read this one.

A bit longer post for the evening. We have had many of our customers recently state they are not seeing our Facebook posts with our daily offerings. This is due to Facebook algorithms, and that many do not actually interact with our evening Facebook or Instagram posts. We diligently post an update 6 days a week during peak season. To insure you are not missing out on the freshness, please come over to our website as your daily source of farm information. The daily posting is generated from our website and cross posts to our Facebook and Instagram pages Just scroll down a bit on our website to the “The Farm Blog” and you won’t miss any of the fresh happenings. www.hollyhillfarmandgoods.com

Tomorrow marks the middle of the week, and one day closer to the weekend. Just a few short weeks and the kiddos are out of school and summer officially begins for most. We have your end of the year gifts for teachers, bus drivers, tutors, and anyone else who may need something special to say thank you. Visit our Goods store tomorrow through Saturday.
Tomato lovers, they are growing well in the tunnels and are a vibrant green color. As soon as they are ripe and we have taste tested them for prime goodness, you will know. This year we have on tap Cherokee purple (our ugly tomato), Geronimo red slicers, cherry tomatoes, and yellow candy tomatoes.
Tomorrow’s stand offerings are shown below. Thank you to all who commented regarding the elderberry syrup We will be working to get that in the stand soon. As always, happy hump day! HHFG

Elderberry input…

Happy Monday! We have an opportunity to add elderberry syrup to our lineup in the farm stand. The syrup is both organic and local. Elderberry syrup is a natural remedy for allergy sufferers, cold & flu symptoms, and all around health maintenance. If you have an interest in purchasing elderberry syrup along with your honey, coffee, and fresh produce comment, or message and let us know your thoughts. Whether or not we carry elderberry syrup will depend upon your feedback.
The farm stand is stocked with more freshness from the gardens. Jams, honey, coffee, herbs, and fresh produce. Enjoy the strawberries while they last, and to those who inquired about pickles today, more varieties are on the way. Have a great evening, give us your thoughts, and we will see you at the farm! J&L

Happy Mother’s Day!

What a weekend, we met many new folks that visited the farm, sold out of produce on Saturday, and celebrated our moms on Sunday. While the weather was somewhat cooler the past few days the gardens gave more strawberries, cucumbers, herbs, and zucchini for Monday. The remaining farm stand items are restocked and ready for business. We hope you also had a wonderful weekend, and we will see you at the stand!

The Farm stand is filling

As anticipated with the warmer days upon us, fresh produce is gracing the Farm stand with it’s non-GMO deliciousness. Cucumbers, squash, zucchini, strawberries, fresh cut cooking herbs, jams, pickles, honey, coffee, and hot sauces are available for Saturday. The strawberries typically don’t last but for a few weeks so make sure to get some of that sweetness before they are gone. Yes they are smaller, but much sweeter because of our variety choice.
If you need some fresh produce or a special gift for Mother’s Day swing by the Farm tomorrow from 9am to 4pm for 20% off in Goods. The weekend weather looks to be cooler with sun shining for Sunday! #shoplocal #freshproduce #farmersmarket
