Happy Father’s Day!

A big Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. Celebrate dad with coffee, local honey, hot sauce, jams, pickles, and fresh veggies from the farm stand. Our dads will enjoy their celebration on Sunday! We have a good variety awaiting you tomorrow at the farm stand. The silver queen corn ears are slowly getting larger, the melons are ripening, and the okra is just starting to form. The photo below shows Saturday availability .
While we wait on the edible watermelon, stop into Goods for the wooden watermelon. They look so real you may just want to eat them. Other “Goodies” await you in the Goods store, along with the raffle sign up. Names have been filling the container this week, did you get yours in yet?
After several near misses of rain the past 2 days we finally got 1/4 inch this afternoon. Much cooler now! Happy Friday and we will see you tomorrow at the farm!

Throw back Thursday and TGIF

Another cooking hot day, with more forecasted through next week hitting even more record setting temperatures for June. It’s definitely August weather hot outside which means the vegetable & fruit ripening has slowed. We are anxiously awaiting the new tunnel shade cloths we mentioned last night which should block the sun to help keep the temperatures cooler inside the tunnels. Fingers crossed we return to normal average temperatures soon to keep plenty of non-GMO offerings available.
We had numerous Goods visitors today. A number of the new wooden watermelons found new homes today. While the juicy real ones are still weeks away these wooden babies literally look like they could be eaten.
And now for a throw back Thursday which we haven’t done in several weeks. The photo below was taken on this day in 2019 and was the first day we had a produce stand. Things have surely grown in 3 years. Our appreciation & thanks to our customers that bought out of this stand, regulars, and everyone new! See ya’ at the farm!

August weather in June

What a heat wave. This is what we expected in August not the middle of June. We had to order new shade cloths for the greenhouse tunnels numerous weeks earlier than expected!
The vegetable plants continue to surprise us each day. Thursday in the farm stand you can find the first container of okra for the 2022 season. Green beans are almost ready, and the corn just might be ready for July 4th this year. So far God has blessed us with a good crop and we are beyond grateful.
Cute summer watermelon decorations arrived in Goods today! If you need to bring a little summer to your home or outdoor area, you have to see these lifelike melons. Multiple sizes are available.
Have a cool and hydrated evening. J&L

More variety including the melons, corn, beans, and spaghetti squash will be on the horizon soon.
Have a great evening and we will see you tomorrow.
