And then there were watermelons

We are almost to the another hot summer weekend. The tomato sale was a hit today, thanks to all who swung by, we hope you enjoy the fresh produce. The watermelon taste test occurred last night, and we are proud to say the first few watermelons will be in the stand tomorrow, YAY!! More will be available as they ripen. As a reminder, watermelons are difficult to judge maximum ripeness, so if you have any issues with your melon please message or call us. Get your cantaloupes while you can, as we are almost at the end of the harvest. The ready to eat cantaloupe is in the Farm fridge if you prefer already sliced.
Goods will be open through Saturday for gifts, furniture, décor, and more! New items arrived, are priced, and ready for sale. As one of our customers today said, “this is fabulous, I didn’t realize it was so big with beautiful items for sale at good prices”. Thank you, we are glad you stopped in!
After the lunchtime thunderstorm, the picking is finally done for the day. The Farm stand is stocked and ready for tomorrow. It has been a sticky, hot one today, and we are ready for some air conditioning. Have a stellar night, and we will see you tomorrow!

It’s the start of a new week full of fresh produce and great summer weather. Our gardens are giving and we have almost out grown the farm stand… again. For those of you who shopped with us in 2019 & 2020 when we just had the pallet produce stand you know what we’re referring to. The farm stand is packed out for Monday with delicious produce, herbs, and canned goods. Cantaloupe, corn, and all the fixins’ are ready for scrumptious dinners, lunches, and snacks. While the watermelons are taking their sweet time to ripen. The raspberry crop is progressing well, and will soon be ready for the stand. Have a fantastic week. We will see you at the stand!!

Open Sunday this week!

Due to our abundance of produce this week we are going to open the farm stand tomorrow, Sunday July 11th from 10am to 4pm or until we sell out. If the gate is open, the farm stand is open. What you see in the photo is what we will have available. Goods will be closed until Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who stopped by today. We hope you have a fantastic evening. Jason and Lisa

Overstocked and loving it!

Tomorrow is Friday and the stand is packed full with fresh produce for your weekend meals. Tomatoes, peppers, corn, cantaloupe, herbs, okra, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, beans, eggplant, and Lisa’s canned goodies. Let’s just say we have a small grocery store ready for this weekend. Bean canners will love our white half runners. While the heirloom purple, and yellow wax beans cook up wonderfully. The corn and cantaloupe are so sweet and delicious, and the tomatoes… well you already know about them. The bell peppers are great, and the cucumbers taste so good on a hot day. Don’t let us tell you about our produce, give it a taste for yourself, you will soon find out what all the fuss is about.
The Goods store is open Friday & Saturday for gift and home purchases. The fall items will be coming soon, so stop in for those summer décor items while they are here. Thank you to those who stopped in today, as Lisa was able to briefly enjoy the air conditioning for a short time between picking.
Finally, we would like to just say thank you to everyone who has stopped by to say hello, acknowledge the hard work that this endeavor requires, and tell how much you love our non-GMO fresh produce. We truly appreciate knowing everyone enjoys it as much as we do. J&L

Random Wednesday

The high tunnels (greenhouses) got their weekly cleaning to ensure we can continue to offer those juicy, tasty tomatoes, and other tunnel produce. Thankfully the rain held off so all of the gardens could be picked for the daily restock. There will be a few more cantaloupe, and some corn for tomorrow. Cut cantaloupe will be offered for the first time tomorrow in the Farm frig for those busy folks on the constant go who want “ready to eat”.
More new items arrived in Goods today. The sign up for the artwork raffle will continue until July 24th, the day we will announce the winner. If you haven’t seen the inside of Goods yet, make sure to come in and take a gander. While the outside may look utilitarian, the inside hides an abundance of custom carpentry work. The rough cut wood for the ceiling / trim in the building, as well as many of the locally crafted artwork items was cut, and milled right here in Cherokee County.
The Farm stand is stocked, and ready for another day of freshness. Thanks to all that support & buy local. We appreciate you! Holly Hill Farm & Goods

“C” is for corn and cantaloupe

The first dozen ears of sweet corn, and a few more cantaloupe are available tomorrow, Wednesday. If you haven’t tried the lemon cucumbers, get them while they last. The vines do not survive long in the summer heat, so they won’t last all summer. The watermelon check-up indicates they are close, but not yet quite ready.
Speaking of close to ready, the pepper variety will soon increase as the scorpion, Carolina reaper, mini bell, and banana peppers are starting to ripen. Candy yellow tomatoes are ripening too, so they too will soon be making an appearance.
New Goods inventory arrived this morning. Make sure to stop in, and sign up for the raffle that will be drawn in 2 weeks for more custom artwork. More names were added to the raffle pot today, and we hope everyone enjoys your purchases. Check out Goods the remainder of the week from 10am to 4pm, rain or shine.
Duties are still on the PM agenda! We hope everyone has a wonderful evening! Until tomorrow! J&L

Summer is here..

Summer has made it’s appearance in Georgia. While still cooler than previous years, the AM humidity makes it feel much hotter. Warning as a moment of reality is being shared in this post tonight.
The produce pickin’ is done, and sweating occurred. The goodness from mother nature is packed out in the Farm stand.
The melon garden was moved to a different garden for 2021. This has not been a positive change, and we are expecting a small yield for melons this year. Yes, we will have a few cantaloupe starting tomorrow, but recommend getting them while you can. Saddening as we love cantaloupe also. We will keep you updated.
Corn is planned to be picked this week which loves the 2021 garden change! Okra, eggplant, and peppers are beginning to make a statement in the stand too. Our squash, zucchini, and cucumbers are hanging on in this heat, and the tomatoes are keeping up with demand. Yes, the bean supply ran out today despite the early AM abundance, but fear not, more were picked, and they will be available tomorrow.
Goods is open again tomorrow. Come visit us, browse, sign up for the raffle, or just say hi. If Goods isn’t unlocked just ring the door bell, Lisa will come down, and let you in.
Hoping you have a blessed Monday PM! See you at the farm!
